Past Visits!
This is where you'll find all of the events that we've visited in the past. I have removed the slideshows that they were presented in on the main page, but the thumbnail pictures still remain below.
Doodlebops:
We visited Doodlebops Live! On October 28th at the Palace Theatre. The show was very entertaining for both my 6 year old and 2 year old, but also for me. It had more of a concert feel instead of just a show. They played songs that the kids knew and could see along to and also had some kids from the audience participate. I think the thing that I loved the most was being able to take pictures so I can have memories for the kids when they get older. This was an amazing show and I can't wait to go again next year.

Sesame Street Live:
November 22, 2006 was our first experience with Sesame Street Live! One mother says that she has been coming to see this show every year for 12 years!!! Though it was the night before Thanksgiving, the turnout was great. We had wonderful seats right on the floor near the stage. I don't think that there would have been a bad seat available though because the characters were interactive with the audience. Telly even sat down in the vacant chair next to ours. The stage was big and the characters moved all around so every side had a chance to see it all. I attended the show with two 3-year-olds so we only made it through to the intermission (the show started at 7pm and intermission was at 8pm). I wish we could have seen the rest of the show, but sometimes you have to take a loss for the little ones. Maybe next year...It was a great show and I would say to go see it.

Powell Touch-A-Truck Event:
As horns beeped, sirens sounded and children giggled, you could feel the excitement during the May 4 th , 2007 , Powell Touch-A-Truck event.
Vehicles involved for the children's hands-on experience included Children's Close To Home mobile unit, Liberty Township Fire Department, Buckeye Concrete, United States Post Office, Rumpke Trash, school bus, plow truck, Time Warner, Delaware Park Rangers, and more. There were special appearances from The Columbus Crew Mascot and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The actual driver of each vehicle was on hand to give explanations and details about the vehicles. The children had the opportunity to sin in the driver's seat and push any button they desired.
There was excitement for the drivers and adults as well as the children. Countless people expressed to me their gratitude for the opportunity to be involved in an event such as this. The driver form Buckeye Concrete said it's so neat because you see the awe in children's faces as they look at the vehicles driving down the road or at a job site, but to see the vehicles up close is amazing. In passing I overheard a parent exclaiming how this event keeps growing every year and it just keeps getting better.
The skies were clear. The children were happy. This is an event that we will be visiting every year.

Calling All Spidey Fans:
Is your little one obsessed with Spider-Man like mine? Have you seen the new movie in theatres? Own all the other s on tape or DVD? Trip over every toy imaginable because they litter the living room floor? Do you steer clear of certain isles at the store to avoid cries of want and need? We attended a couple events I hope you knew about through our calendar.
On April 25, 2007 , United Skates of America hosted a toddler skate where Spider-Man made a special appearance. As he ran from one end of the rink too the other, the kids would flock to his side. The Masked Marvel was wonderful at making sure the children received hi-fives, hugs and pictures. The personality and energy were enticing and exciting. You could hear the sadness as the children said good-bye over the theme music. It was worth every penny of the $5 admission we paid (which included skating).
This is something that United Skates of America does every month. Keep checking our calendar to find out more details and which character will be available next.
We also visited two Meijer stores for the Spider-Man Celebration on May 5, 2007 . I was a little disappointed in this event. The store had a designated area where they gave each child handouts, stickers and tattoos in the Spider-man theme as well as a piece of beautifully decorated cake. There was nothing else happening. The products were wonderful and the people were great about supporting our website. But the event was boring.
If you know of any events, let us know because we want to be there too!!
